The Rabbit Engineering Model G1 allows you to play almost any 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) cartridge in style, using arcade-spec joystick and buttons. The Model G1's prototype was featured on Kotaku.com and Hackaday.com, and the production unit was featured on design blog PSFK.
The Model G1 was designed using open-source constructive-scene geometry modelling software. The design files consist of 4515 lines of code, which describe the internal and external structure of the machine. This geometry is interpreted by the 3D printer and CNC router which produce the parts, which are made from two environmentally friendly materials - 3D printed polylactic acid (PLA) plastic and oak-faced plywood. This use of computer controlled tools ensures that each Model G1, even though hand-assembled, is produced to the same high standards.
Please note that due to the underlying technology used in the Model G1, there are 23 of the 840 games released for the NES (2.7%) that are not compatible. The following cartridges will not work reliably on the Model G1:
